Thank you for the reply i would be looking at a budget of £2,000 main priority to be used as a dev machine but with the ability to play some games as well :)

Hello, I don't really know what kind of dev work you will do, so take what i'm saying with a little bit of salt, but i hope this will answer your needs.
So with you budget, i propose you this build, it's (almost) on your budget and it's a little bit more balanced :

- I changed your ram from 64go at 5200 MHz to 32 to 5600 MHz (but, if you really need 64, go for it, it's just that i don't really saw anything that need that much ram)
- I changed the ssd configuration, the first one is a quick "small" one for your OS, software and most used documents and the second one is for storage and game
- I added the golden warranty and the dead pixel guarantee, with laptop, where you cannot change anything if a problem occur, it's "mandatory" for me

I hope it will be useful ^^
PS : Just to be sure, are you aware that the laptop gpu are underpowered related to their desktop counterpart and cannot be upgraded later ? so the 4070 laptop gpu is more or less a 4060 desktop gpu.
Because you may want to go for a 4080 with the watercooling solution for more "futurproofing"

Thank you so much for this and all you have said makes sense, i think I'm going to go ahead with the spec you have provided above so thank you. I know the gpu cant be upgraded later but my budget doesn't quiet stretch to the 4080 and for the time ill actually spend gaming im happy with the above so thank you again.

I might be wrong but I don't think you are able to upgrade GPU's on laptops as they are soldered in.
