Following the 7 years of what was to be a five-year research (The CEO and team have now completed their works) the following 'up to date' advice is offered for your most serious contemplation. 1) Before, you embark on a teaching career abroad in Asia you should carry out
some serious research to make sure you are going to be in a safe environment
with good people looking after you. That means, getting paid (and on time),
having suitable living accommodation and health insurance. Unfortunately, it is
not easy to find.
2) Yes, the opportunities are here, but there are in each Asian location
obstacles that are beyond the comprehension of people traveling from The
States, Australia, Canada, Europe etc ... Corruption is rife. Lies and changing
of contracts 'on the spot’, failure to re-imburse airfares, local air fees, 1
night accommodation costs, Immigration fees, travel to work from the apartment
of the employers choice, working hours and 'shifts', is a minefield. A BIG
MINEFIELD.
3) One of the best ways is to travel to your destination. Then find the people
and place you'd like to work with. (But they will probably say. 'you were
already here' 'we don't have to re-imburse your airfare'). Every 'twist' every
'cornerstone' will be given to you. If you cannot cope, or have no funds. Your
trapped. Lets outline the main problems for you country by country. Yes, We have been there. Yes we have worked there in many places, Yes we are still here and continuing our re-search and yes we have facts to back-up any questions you may have. Right down to court cases we have been involved in, in our research. We don't play. This is the devastating truth. But for entrepreneurs who don't mind hardship and the very big possibility of even debt then read on. We will also give the much needed comments on the visitors to these countries who have an abundance of 'throw outs, thugs, animals and just 'really bad people'. However, they are not all bad and there are some very true professionals in Asia giving of there best. Comments below do not take into account the few, but very nice people you will meet. The comments in the country pages give a general outline and so much of your visit depends on the good people you meet and work for. We say: Come and enjoy, but don't be weak.
