The
Global Impact Certificate curriculum has been specifically framed and designed
to meet the entrance standards of universities in the major English-speaking
countries. It has been prepared by expert and highly qualified academics in
consultation with the internationally recognised universities. The curriculum
equips students with the skills and knowledge that universities seek in their
candidates for entry and success at university.
The major focus of the curriculum is on developing English language proficiency
and its application to the key disciplines of Mathematics, Information
Technology, Business and/or Science. The emphasis in the curriculum is on
student-centred learning and skill acquisition.
The GIC is made up of three levels, each lasting 12 weeks. The total GIC

Entry Requirements
The following entrance levels apply:
1.
School completion is considered at two levels:
Completion
of the second last year of secondary school with above average grades
Completion
of secondary school with satisfactory grades.
(If you have been in employment you will also qualify for entry)
2.You must be able to
demonstrate a minimum IELTS of 5.0 (TOEFL 500) or equivalent
The GIC Approved Teaching Centre will give you an English
entrance test that we have devised that will show your level of English language
proficiency. If your English standard needs to be developed, the Approved
Teaching Centre will provide a preparation course for you to improve your skills
to the level required.
You should provide documents of your academic studies and
your English language proficiency when you apply to the Approved Teaching
Centre.
This is a general guide to the GIC entry requirements. Your provisional or
forecast results will also be considered. If you do not meet the guidelines you
should still submit an application with relevant school records for
consideration.
Advanced Standing
Depending on your English language proficiency, and your academic
qualifications, you may be able to enter the GIC at a higher level, which will
reduce the duration of the course. The Director of Studies at your GIC Approved
Teaching Centre will be able to advise you of the appropriate entry level.

centres having a range of native speakers
A teaching qualification at a level that is
determined by the Global Impact Certificate Academic Director
Experience in teaching English language university
pathway programs
An ability to teach students for whom English is not
their first language
All teaching staff attend regular training sessions from authorized GIC Regional
Academic Managers to ensure that you receive quality classroom teaching.
Teachers are also regularly appointed from within the GIC teacher network, which
constantly searches for high quality teachers around the world.
Assessment
The GIC has been developed to allow you to demonstrate that you understand the
course work and that you can demonstrate the ability to apply the skills you
have acquired during your studies. This is achieved by regular assessments and
assignments.
There are exit examinations that are developed and set by the Curriculum
Development Unit as part of the quality procedure, but your final grades include
assessments from your work during the course as well as the examination.
Your Certificate will only be awarded when you have successfully completed the
course and your grades will be recorded on your Academic Transcript provided in
addition to your certificate and entered in the Global Records at Head
Office.
Graduation Certificates
When you successfully complete Level 3 of the Global Impact Certificate you will
receive a Graduation Certificate presented at a graduation ceremony.
You will also receive an Academic Transcript, which is a formal record of your
study achievements. This is an important document because it must accompany your
application to any pathway university.
